Oh, I agree with you. But judging someone as an idiot because they haven't quite finished working out an idea you've already figured out is... idiotic.

These people are just in the infancy stages of learning to effectively write and one of those steps is figuring out that you can communicate ideas and values without actually spelling it out. They are not going to come out of the gate with finely honed subtlety.

Complaining about people taking longer to learn or figure out things than other people is useless. And it comes across as hypocritical when OP provides one highly specific example. Either attempt to explain it and get them there quicker or let them finish working through it on their own.

But whatever it is no skin off my nose if OP wants to spend some of their time feeling needlessly superior to someone.

I'm not sure I like this. It's coming across like, "don't criticize the way things are written, guys, because they might still be figuring things out, and criticizing it means you're trying to feel superior!"

I see how it comes off that way. I think I'm trying to say criticize the skill and not the person. And do it to their face. Because I absolutelly think if OP thinks someone shouldn't write something like that that way OP should say something to that person. I just think it is silly for OP to make a smuggish condescending secret about someone for being ignorant and... let that person just keep being ignorant.
