Marian Halcomb <3 <3 <3 <3

Unfortunately, having been written in the 1840s, she's not the main character (it's her dippy half-sister instead) and she also gets kind of jobbed in the course of the text and there's just generally some unfortunate, of-the-times gender stuff

still worth reading for her, though, imo
