People's headcanon's go against canon all the time. Even if a person is born as a boy they will headcanon them as transmale. Even if a person is in a sexual relationship they will headcanon them as asexual.

People just get lost in their own fantasies.

If it goes against canon, it's not a headcanon, it's an idea for an AU.

No judgment, it's not a better or worse thing to do, just call it what it is.
