I think both of them are equally to blame for the situation they found themselves in. If they had just communicated better, it wouldn't have gotten that far.

That wasn't what I was saying at all. Everything that happened after that - the way their arguing continued to escalate - is equally their faults.

Yeah, like...she's been a bit unkind, perhaps, but he really really needs to stop shutting her down every time she tries to explain what was going on and why she left. It's not healthy for either of them. They both need to sit down and talk, honestly, about what's bothering them.

I disagree. She's my favorite character still. And I love that their relationship has become more complicated and that they aren't perfect and completely in sync anymore. Love her. Really all the women on this show are awesome.

At least her voice has got less squeaky. She was so high-pitched when she was introduced that her voice actually caused me pain. It sounds far more natural now she's dropped it a bit.

I don't like what she's doing, but I understand why she's reacting the way she is, and I sympathize. For me, that's the sign of a well-written character. I think this latest arc is going to be good for her.

Fitz, OTOH, was working my last nerve until last Tuesday. Sanctimonious is not a good look for him. Although, again, I understood where he's coming from.

I think they're doing that on purpose. And I really liked the little slight-of-hand and code talking she and Fitz did this last episode. But I think it's time for the writers to start pulling her back or realizing how extreme her world view is getting.

Um, I think they mean [SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 EPISODE 16] when she was all "I hoped we could work together on this" concerning opening the cube, when he seemingly agreed to cooperate and start working with her in the lab, they switched the cube with a dummy, Fitz said he wanted out of his job, and walked out with the real cube. [END OF SPOILERS]

I know that, I was wondering if we actually saw them communicate via code.

See, I like her even more as a character because she's getting this development and this side of her that isn't sugary sweet or even nice at times. It's interesting and a little heartbreaking.

I like her because she's one of the only people not tripping over themselves for poor Mary SueSkye. It wasn't personal, it was just her logic and reason saying HEY GURL IS DANGEROUS YO. Plus everyone was poor Fitz after his trauma at the end of season 1 and she was just being a badass infiltrating Hydra!

Text: She started out as my favorite character. Now, I dislike her more every episode. I don’t really care what her own issues are anymore. She’s an absolutely lousy friend (and Fitz had every right to call her out on it).

Whatever. I'm so tired of people hating on Simmons. Her actions and reactions to things make perfect sense in-universe. And Fitz & Simmons are my two favorite characters, but they're both sympathetic and they're both wrong about different aspects of their fall-out. Isn't it crazy how sometimes relationships can have problems and no one's the villain?!

That said, the writers have mishandled the pacing of the whole storyline and development of her character in particular, IMO.
