Eh. More and more I feel like the proper explanation for this is going to have more to do with genre than any intrinsic biological difference in sex

Oh, I don't think it has to do with biological difference in sex at all. I think most of what appear to be differences between genders when it comes to this are completely social, and the rest is what people making porn just assume men and women want.

But, yeah, a lot of women like the "mechanical" porn just as much as men do, and a lot of men like the sensual porn!

Ah, sorry, I see now that I was just misreading (specifically, I think, glossing "presumed audience" as being about gender when it wasn't).
