Re: Writer Insecurities
(Anonymous) 2015-04-14 01:00 am (UTC)(link)Or, go to your favorite kink meme and pick a prompt that you can write but that you're only blah about. You don't have to post it; just finish it and then edit it so you get in the habit of having editing being part of your process.
Basically, try to find ways to practice writing where you don't feel so much pressure and you're maybe a little detached from the characters and settings so you're aren't worried about doing them justice.
Hopefully, you can extend the low-pressure feeling you have with these kinds of exercises to the writing you want to do. This should also get you in the habit of writing a little every day, which I finds helps some people get into a rhythm they can use for long-term projects.
