Well yeah. That's why I don't say anything. (And why it's here in the confession section.)

It's just that I have very little to look forward to in my life and slash fandom was always a sanctuary where I was happy.

I know it will still be there but it's sad to see something that represents one of the few things that makes you happy be slowly chipped away at, no matter how well deserved it is.

I don't think you're in any danger. Unlike the buffet analogy, there is so much media full of white guys out there (and so much more being created every single day) that this is arguably not the zero sum game you're describing. We're not limited to only getting X number of TV shows every year, or X number of movies, or X number of books and production keeps going up.

Let's say you have ten dozen vanilla frosted cupcakes. It's more than you can safely consume, but hey, you love vanilla frosted cupcakes! Then someone says, let's have more diversity of frosted cupcakes, that'd be nice. But they're not going to grab back some of your cupcakes, scrape the frosting off and put chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch on them, they're just going to bake more cupcakes, with chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch frosting.

You already have tons and tons of cupcakes, more than you can eat. And you're still not being asked to share any of your cupcakes, people are willing to make more cupcakes for the people who aren't you, but who would like a cupcake. You don't lose any cupcakes. Relaaaaaaaax.

Pfft your special sanctuary is going to get ruined because instead of every other show being about white men, there might be like 5% more shows not about them. Get your head out of your ass, man.
