Little of both, I wager. Nothing wrong with wanting more diversity -- diversity is great and welcome! -- but reactions like this to het make MY eyes roll probably as much as yours.

OP doesn't seem like they're acting like an ass.

It's perfectly natural to feel bitterness when you feel left out of popular media. And it can be really weird watching shows that depict everyday settings, where you simply don't exist.

Geez, I swear this community is so damn anal and overly sensitive about lgbt people's opinions. We have the right to complain too, ya know. :/

The secret says nothing about badly written het romance subplots. It says that OP's tolerance for het romance subplots (period) is down and that seeing a het couple kiss makes them roll their eyes. If ALL het romance makes them feel that way, then yeah, they're bitter.
