I'd consider it one of his worst, tbh. Too long, flat underdeveloped characters, and an unsatisfying ending.

Revival is much better written but it's also one of his top 5 worst IMO.

Agreed that it's the worst. It's also the last one of his I read (that's how bad it was, it killed all my desire to read anything of his ever again!).

The whole thing was so political -- the bad guys were just a thin rewrite of Bush/Cheney (and I say that as someone who hated those two). I read King for entertaining fiction, not in-your-face politics.

Blah. It's been years since I read that book and it still makes me angry.
