I remember having this conversation some time ago. One friend, mtf, posted a general "go away fetishists" regarding folk who are into trans* bodies. Other friend, mtf, countered that he finds it wonderful that there are people who did his body attractive.

I pretty much agree with the latter. You can't help being turned on by what you like. Some people have a thing for short people, fat people, crazy buff people, hairy people, etc. Don't get me wrong, chasers are scary and a legit concern for trans folk. It's the question of whether attraction suddenly equates to dehumanization, and if the attention is unwelcome. If all parties involved are dtf, why the hell not.

Imo, we should all be fucking everyone and demystifying bodies so that I don't have to tldr to +1 you.

And where do you draw the line between fetish or preference? For a straight person, one could say non-straight men are over-represented in my relationship life. Hell, I still don't even know why, I don't even specifically seek it out, it just sort of is. Is it a preference, or just weird coincidence - who knows, but I wouldn't call it a fetish, and it's not like I'm not attracted to straight men. the word "fetishizing" get thrown around way too much.

For me, it's something that's acutely attractive. Or arousing to be specific. I'd prefer to date queer men too, but I know exactly why and it's not a sexual fetish so much as based on experience and presumption that they tend to be more open minded and comfortable to talk to. That's a preference, and it's emotional and intuitive, rather than "oh this guy is bi. time to sploosh to that asap".

But let's talk about dicks for a sec. Phimosis intrigues and tickles me in all the right ways. I don't go out of my way to look for the phimotic. I don't make it rule to only deal with phimotic penii. There's kind of no way I would even subconsciously only prefer or tend to that unless I'm specifically looking for and requesting it, which is what I'd call fetishizing.

And I don't necessarily think it's a negative thing to do unless the folk involved are hurt by it.
