I've been feeling this a lot lately as well. Sometimes het romances will work for me, but most of the time they're either written badly, or start out respecting both parties but increasingly sideline and diminish the female character because they don't know what to do with her once she's not an unattainable prize for the guy. F/F and M/M can be written badly as well, of course, but it shows less because there aren't as many of them.
