I eventually decided it had to be a bird-scarer, though I've never seen them so high up in the sky (or looking like Dementors) before, but I think this answer is probably more accurate.

I'll reply here, case froze the other thread and. Mostly because you are talking out of your ass.

Enabling delusions of the mentally ill is harmful, wrong and immoral. It leads to pathological thinking and spreads a fabricated reality through “false impressions”. It's dangerous for them and for the people surrounding them.

So yeah, as someone who has to deal with these issues daily, fuck you and shut up your ignorant mouth.

I hate it when stuff like that happens. Just for clarification I mean seeing something I know I could not have possibly seen, not that I have seen random dementors on holiday or something.

The last time it happened I was in bed, tired but not near sleep yet. There was a storm and after rolling to face a window near the foot of my bed I noticed after every lightning flash for about two seconds there would be a tall completely blacked out figure standing in front of the window. It didn't look real, I'm not sure how to explain that, but for a while I just figured it was me being more tired than I thought. Then because of itchy eyes and possibly random chance I realized I was only seeing the thing with my right eye. So I trouble sleeping that night, because I kept wondering if I had done something to my eye.

I can feel how weird and disorienting this is. A few months ago I thought I was being stalked by inhumanly tall, pale things in the woods. Turns out I was hallucinating!

But yeah, that gut dropping feeling of, "Oh fuck, they're real," is pretty awful. I hate doubting reality.

Text: I swear I saw a Dementor hovering over the fields in Hertfordshire today.

I was walking the dogs when I looked up and saw it.

I watched it for 15 minutes as it soared and menaced in the wind.

I know logically it must have been a kite, but I’ve never seen a kite look or behave anything like it.

Maybe Harry was playing a pick up game of Quidditch and Draco was bored.

... perhaps some frayed black plastic blowing in the wind in the distance? It's used in gardening to forestall weed growth, so some could have been blown from its moorings and gone on a flying tour... ?
