I was forced to watch the first season of GoT, loathed it, but really especially did not get her hype. The first two episodes, I was just too disgusted by how the character was written. but she seems to be the most popular GoT character or something judging by how often I have to see her face on facebook...

Aesthetically she's all right, but the eyebrows bug me. Yes, we've had eyebrow wank here before, but I just think they look funny.

I think visually she looks a lot better in motion than in pictures. But I think that about most people.

I don't understand why her wig always looks so obvious. There are so many wigs on so many other characters and hers is the only one that drives me up the wall.

The sad thing is she's way better written in the show than in the books.

I don't think she looks bad exactly, but she's always the one I can't suspend my disbelief for. Something about the design/costuming just keeps reminding me that this is Emilia Clarke in a fake wig and painted eyebrows, and that doesn't happen so much with any of the other actors who look very different in real life (like Lena Headey for example).

I've never understood why Dany is so popular. I think her book/season one plot was actually decent, but everything since then has been boring. Even though THERE BE DRAGONS!

I don't mind how Emilia Clarke looks though and I think she does a fine job in the role. Nothing to write home about though, which is why my opinion of the character hasn't changed a bit since the show came out.

Her wig is so incredibly bad, her makeup isn't great, and the fact that her acting is mediocre at best also doesn't help.

Really? I think she usually looks very pretty, bad wig and all, but this photo is awful. She's been photoshopped to oblivion and looks nothing like she normally does.

When I was scrolling down, I thought it was one of those bad CG covers you sometimes see on fantasy novels put out by some small publishing houses. She doesn't quite look real in that photo.

I think the problem with Daenerys is she started off on such a high note. Viserys's death, Khal Drogo's death, the birth of her dragons...ALL that happens just in the first book, right? Hell, those were some of the most exhilarating moments in the entire series so far that, IMHO, have not been matched since. And now it's been, what, 3-4 books since anything interesting has happened to her, besides the prophecy (god that moment when AoIaF became Silent Hill, I wish it had stayed) and freeing slaves. GRRM really seemed to blow her arc load immediately and hasn't figured out what to do with her since.
