Whenever he shows up anywhere I have to do a double-take because my first reaction is always 'What the hell is Owen Harper doing on Game of Thrones/Turn/Revenge/etc.?'

Then I remember actors do indeed have more than one role through their lifetimes.

I'd say of everyone in Torchwood Burn Gorman's career is the most far flung and interesting.

It is, because he has an interesting look and is a character actor. But I would say John Barrowman has made a lot more money. Eve Myles has had bigger roles as well.

Hah, me too. I'm usually fine with it but there's something about his face that makes me think "Owen Harper" and not "Burn Gorman."

Heh, I'm constantly calling him "Mr. Guppy" (from Bleak House) interchangeably with his real name. But I do like his name and love his performance in everything I've ever seen him in. Despite Owen being kind of a dick, he was always my favorite character, just because of Burn's performance.

Are you watching Turn? Is it good? I know Burn is a recurring character on it, but how large/important is his role?

Unfortunately not! Not a big fan of watching things before they're finished (though if John Laurens or A. Hamilton show up I will probably start). I know it's not very accurate, but I never expect history shows to be.

He's not a major role but it's not minor, either. (Also he's in a wig, which is hilarious.)

We marathoned Turn. It's good, in a costume drama, not documentary kind of way. The 2nd season just started, so there's plenty of time to catch up

Ha, me too. I see Owen first instead of the actor in a different role, but that character left an impression on me(and it wasn't a good one).
