I just wish FW would move somewhere else

Journalfen keeps closing the option to create free accounts, ostensibly to avoid "growing too large." Paid accounts are timed and expire, so there's no way it's worth it. (And of course FW only lets you comment if you have an account . . .)

Wasn't Journalfen created so FW would have a place they wouldn't get kicked off of when people in the wanks found out, and started whining about it?

As I understood it, it was already in the works, but was pushed out early due to FW getting kicked off of LJ.

Not sure where else it would go, really. Are the same people even still into it? A lot of the old FW people I remember (keeping in mind I'm thinking all the way back to 2005) have moved on. Maybe DreamWidth.

Don't all journal site paid accounts expire after a certain time though, if you don't keep renewing (DW has accounts for 1, 2, 6 and 12 months, for example)? Or do you mean that Journalfen won't let you renew once your paid account has expired?

Sure, the paid account benefits expire if you stop paying, but the account still exists and works as a free account... Just like here, and on LJ.

I just checked mine to be certain: created as paid ~12 years ago and never renewed, last updated 252 weeks ago. I had no problem posting to it, and a comment box popped up when I clicked "reply" on a f_w post.
