Except that's not true. I've seen some young terrible yaoi fangirls out there, but the forums I browse have mostly and adult user base and I can assure you that the yaoi fans there are great, they enjoy bara as much as they like BL and I've never seen them bash any female characters or condone rape tropes

On the other hand on that same forum I have to deal with yurifans shitting on the male love interest of the main character of one of the series I'm watching this season just because he 'ruins' their yuri fantasies. So no, don't tell me that they are the same.
