I've seen every FF movie in theatres since the first one, even the bad ones.

There's any other KIND?

Yes! The first one was amazing as were the 3rd and 6th ones.

For movies that are so chock full of T&A they're also startlingly more likely to pass the Bechdel test than a lot of higher quality material.

Plus, uh, Michelle Rodriguez is mai waifu and Vin Diesel is mai husbando.

Oh my god that is a hilarious misunderstanding on my part.

I thought you mean the FANTASTIC FOUR movies. Lolz.

--Rogan

PS from Miranda: My goodness, if Vin Diesel were in a Fantastic Four movie, I might actually ENJOY one.

I have never seen a single Fantastic Four movie. I hope I never will.

Your loss, herp! I've seen all three and they are INCREDIBAD! Glorious delicious cheese!

I'm pretty sure the only way I could stand them would be with copious alcohol and the lovely shitstream crew to share my pain.

Rogan's an intellectual masochist who takes perverse pleasure in watching the most godawful movies he can find. It's why he loves Noodles' streams so much. WE, herpy, have TASTE.

I'd get along with Rogan then, as long as he agreed that we can only watch shitty horror movies. Otherwise, he'd better provide beer.

Hmmmm. I'm actually not sure I have many shitty horror movies. Best I can do is Wild Zero, which isn't shitty but AMAZING.

I have a terrible allergy to jump scares and gore, alas. Break out in hives and post-nasal drip.

If you've got crappy horror movies that somehow avoid either of those, though, I am all in! (I have... the American remake of the Grudge? Does that count?)

Not all horror is over the top gore or jump scares. A lot of horror comedy is pretty tame/cheesy.

Like, I'd wager if you're able to sit through your average big budget action flick you wouldn't be bothered by the amount of gore in say, Slither or What We Do In The Shadows.

Wild Zero is amazing and you have good taste.

(I have a Guitar Wolf shirt an artist friend on my dad made me.)

PICS? Tell me you have pics! Oh please! I really want to see that shirt! It must be rockin'!

(We actually made a short comic to be in the Wild Zero fanzine that lamentably went under. It is my favorite movie and I am so fucking excited to find someone else who likes it.)

Oh man. I'd have to dig around for pics. I'll get back to you on that. But! I should stream it one weekend and you should come! I haven't streamed in a long time.

There was a fanzine? Interesting.

Re: Homages to the Deceased in Media

[personal profile] lb_lee 2015-04-16 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
YES YOU SHOULD. This is a good idea and you should feel good. And since we lost our copy of Wild Zero in the move (POST OFFICE *shakes fists*) the stream might be a balm for the pain.

Well, there WAS going to be a fanzine. But there weren't enough contributors, so alas, it was never to be. If you want to see the thing we were going to put in, though, it's over here. It's mega-short.

Omg that was wonderful! That message of love is totally what endeared me to the movie. <3

I will plan to stream it soon, if only to help you guys get over the loss of that wonderful film. :(

Re: Homages to the Deceased in Media

[personal profile] lb_lee 2015-04-16 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Same! Normally, I'm not into crackfest movies, but Wild Zero made the grade. I've noticed that when I show it to people, cis folks tend to be pretty evenly split between loving it and hating it, but the trans folks tend to overall love it.

Like, a lot of people seem to think Tobio is stupid, but I realized after finding out that Tobio's actor was Korean that no, she's supposed to be speaking a language that isn't her first. Not only does it explain a lot of her seemingly more bizarre behavior, it adds a whole new layer to the movie, seeing how Japan and Korea get along. She's the kind of person who never gets to be the love interest in these kinds of movies, but in this movie, that's exactly what she gets to be.

I HAVE A LOT OF OPINIONS ABOUT WILD ZERO.
