I assume OP is mostly in shoujo/yosei manga since the yuri fandom there can be pretty nasty just like how terrible is the het and yaoi fandom in shonen/seinen.

In my experience, he nastiest yuri fandoms tend to be in seinen SOLs where the whole casts are girls. Most shoujo romances have a canon love triangle where that's the biggest argument. Shounen has a juggernaut rival!BL ship and endless arguing about the will they are won't the protagonist x main girl. And josei doesn't have a fandom to discuss.
