Disclaimer: I know #notallyurifans are like this. That said.
It's my personal experience, but I've noticed most yuri fandoms tend to be... cattier. In a whole new level. And they act like they are entitled to their ships becoming canon while being completely horrible turds to other shippers (doesn't even matter if they ship girl/girl, boy/boy or boy/girl). I think OP put it quite well when they said they where "by far the most hostile, hate-filled group", and I wouldn't be saying this if I hadn't witnessed this kind of behaviour myself.
It's like IchiRuki vs IchiHime shippers all over again, but with lesbians.
