Dude, I talk to fictional characters in my head, and I feel connected very strongly to some, but that doesn't mean it's "soulbonding" or whatever. Us humans, we're MADE to seek human connection and empathize. In fact, we're so good it it, we do it with non-humans things as well - pets, stuffed toys, even fictional characters.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think it's just that I've never really felt this way about a fictional character before (I do feel connected to a lot of characters and love them dearly, but never to the extent of feeling the need to write fanfiction about them), so that made me wonder a little bit.
