I've started to feel a weird connection to this character, have conversations in my head with them when my mind is idle, pictures/gifs of them give me warm fuzzies, etc. They, in general, make me feel happier about the world.

This still doesn't sound like soulbonding to me. It just sounds like love. Not even necessarily personal or romantic love - aside from the conversations-in-your-head part, that sounds like how I feel about several fictional characters, cute animals, sunshine, my favourite tree, and several family members (maybe don't tell them I compared them to a tree, though). Things/people that just make me happy because they exist. Soulbonding to me implies something rather more intense. Binding part of your essence to someone seems a bit stronger to me than 'they make me happy'.

I don't know. How'd you make the connection?

Well, I'm not sure how, but as soon as I've started watching the show I've felt like I knew this character. It was a bit odd. I shoudn't have even liked them, given how rubbish they are personality-wise...but, somehow, I've started talking to them in my head and vivid little snippets would play out like a movie in my mind. Like I said, that became a tad overwhelming so I just started writing them down to get them out, which makes the matter worse while I'm writing but, in general, does help a lot.

However, when you say 'binding part of your essence to someone', that wording does sound a bit too much for how I feel, so you are most likely correct and this is not soulbonding -- just as well, because I imagine this would be a pretty awful character to soulbond to.
