(Anonymous) 2015-04-17 12:28 am (UTC)(link)He is also in a position now where he's well known enough that he has a say in what he takes on and even the way in which his role will go. There have been plenty of rumors that he has a bit of a say in how his Doctor is written (he may not be able to magically create better writers, but he can put his foot down about certain things.)
I'm sure Capaldi will continue to be in demand until he wishes to retire. I loved The Thick of It but that show would have been over regardless.
