I can never tell if your name is Sar-ill-ee-ya a or Sari-ya, but most of the time I read your name as 'Sa-rill-uh'

I think most people read it that way. A lot of people spell it without the second I. And I go back and forth on the pronunciation myself. I just kind of threw together something that looked vaguely like a name.

You're one of my favorite posters, partially because you share two of my biggest interests (animation and animals), but also because you're incredibly levelheaded and kind. f!s could use more people like you.

Aww thanks! :D

Seen any good animation lately? I haven't been watching much of anything in a while and I could use some suggestions.

Some of my friends I went through most of the Oscar nominations for animation and I really enjoyed Song of the Sea and The Tale of Princess Kaguya. They're both beyond stunning from a visual standpoint.

I very recently tried Triplets of Belleview on Netflix because you've spoke so foundly of it. I really liked what I watched of it, but it didn't have English subtitles and I was also working on schoolwork at the time, I'd like to watch when I'm more focused and have subtitles before I'd discuss it.

Oh I still need to watch both of those.

I haven't come across any version of Triplets of Belleville that has subtitles. Even the American DVD I have doesn't. That bothered me at first but then I realized that there's not really any dialogue to be translated except for an occasional news broadcast here and there. Since it is so dependent on visuals, it's definitely something that's better when you can really focus on watching the screen.

You're one of the three people on this comm I can expect to be reasonable whenever there is social justice wank. I like how you don't lump everyone who talks about those issues into the EVUL TUMBLR SJW BUNSELF SNOWFLAKE category.

Well there are people who think I'm one of those too. I'm glad you think I'm reasonable though. I try to at least consider where other people are coming from even if I don't agree with them.

I'm really curious about who the other two people are.

"I try to at least consider where other people are coming from even if I don't agree with them."

See, that's what I'm talking about! Acknowledgement of the possibility of nuance is something sorely lacking from so many discussions that go on here.

I would tell you who the other two people are, but the rules of this thread say that's a no-no unless they comment (neither of them have so far).

DA

So you're saying it's no one who has so far, huh? lol

Well there are people who think I'm one of those too.

I believe you, but that baffles me. You're reasonable and care about things, which is good! (But you don't flip out if someone disagrees with you and you aren't mean-spirited or condescending.)

Some people seem to not care so much about SJWs being bullies but care more about "look at this ridiculous thing they believe!" and I have some, let's say, unpopular opinions that leave some people rolling their eyes.

I'm sure we all have a few opinions that are unpopular (and eye-roll worthy) to someone. I've never seen you say anything offensive or cruel which is more important to me.

You're a really good poster, you seem like a really kind person, and I really enjoy seeing your perspective on things.

We don't cross streams often but you always come off as very reasonable and open to discussion, which I find cool. Plus you've got a dog riding a bike as your icon which is just bonus points tbh.

Thanks. I'm actually kinda jealous of the dog because I never learned to ride a bike since the idea of taking the training wheels off terrified me.
