Are you me?

I go through stages. When I first get into a fandom, I read everything. Then, as I start writing, I get pickier and pickier until I'm rejecting almost every fic in favor of just rereading my own. It sounds really awful to admit that though, so I usually end up saying "Oh, I spend so much time writing that I don't have time to read!"

New anon chiming in to say I do this too. I will read thousands of fics when I entire a fandom, but as soon as I decide to write fics, my interest in reading new fic wears off. I will re-read either my own fics or ones I've already read after that point.
