Re: Couch to half marathon? (well, almost)

The half-marathon I'm thinking of running is held every year on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. So a year to train for it would be just about right. But I know from experience that keeping up my motivation for that length of time is hard for me.

Have you ever tried making a running blog? Or even maybe a tumblr/fitblr for it? I'm not sure if it'd help you but maybe having to write about it everyday or so would keep you accountable?

Even though it could be kind of lame, maybe one of those dream goal wall thingys to post in your home to remind you everyday?

Either that or maybe see if the actual marathon has a forum and try and find a group or buddy to start training with? I'm sure there's other ways to find someone in your area to buddy up with for it (facebook, I think there way be apps to find fitness buddies, or last last last resort craigslist).
