Because robots are just awesome? They're like humans, in most media, but they never rot or decay into eventual ill health and death like human characters. It's like the best of humans, but immortal and repairable.

What you are saying robots don't get rusty? Or that they'll never have components fail? Because experience from computers, cars, microwaves, telephones, and virtually every other electronic device ever suggests that robots will decay and fail faster than humans ever will. Our operating life expectancy is way better than any robot. Hell, Asimo is only 15 years old and there have been three of those machines already.

Did you miss the part where I said "repairable"? You can practice rust prevention and replace components, as well as entire limbs or sections of metal.

virtually every other electronic device ever suggests that robots will decay and fail faster than humans ever will.

And are those devices made from Cybertronium? I doubt it.

What about Cybermen?

I've always found Daleks to have more sex appeal, myself. To each his own though.

They do have more obvious phallic implements that Cybermen. And Davros has a certain je ne sais quois.

Didn't Bulkhead catch a disease problem in Prime? Several times on the verge if dying iirc.

Also, IDW had thrown in robo illnesses to the mix, plus hints that despite their age, they aren't immortal. Still cool though!

Yeah, and I remember cosmic rust popping up in a few continuities. Not to mention Ratchet and Megatron taking robot steroids.

I think, although they can die and will die eventually, they're going to live millions of years--and that's immortal to me, for all intents and purposes.
