(Anonymous) 2015-04-19 03:58 am (UTC)(link)Though I realize you're simply indulging in a self-righteous sneer at another anon, you're missing the fact that everyone experiences compassion as a limited resource. If you didn't, you'd be emotionally overwhelmed by all the people and situations that deserve it, and presumably you need/want to find the time to work, go to school, socialize, spend time with your loved ones, read a book, watch some TV, get some Thai take out, etc. etc. without sitting there drowning in a tidal wave of compassion for every single injustice in the world.
I do, too. But the difference between you and me is that I don't pretend otherwise.
