Re: Fuck you, Frank Cho

Ehhhhh I think everyone involved in this has been pretty awful.

Frank Cho, simply because he knows this shit rustles peoples' proverbial jimmies, so he's batting the hornets nest while pouring gasoline on the fire on purpose. Purely for attention seeking, or so is the impression I get. Then again, I can't even recall a single thing he's done recently that's worth noting -that includes his creator owned stuff, like 'Liberty Meadows'-, so maybe he's trying to fuel the fire just so he can stay relevant or w/e.

Robbi Rodriguez, for reacting the way he did. Despite making a few good points IMO, had he not completely flipped his shit (I find it funny/ironic he claims Spider-Gwen was like "his child", despite the fact Spider-Gwen is based off of an existing character created by entirely different people), Cho *probably* would not have continued to egg the issue on to the 'beating the dead horse' point.

Various people -both who agree and disagree with Cho- for giving him attention. Cho is known for doing T&A pin-ups, and he's one of those creators who ain't gonna change no matter how much and how loudly people complain about it (and given his personality, it only fuels him even harder to keep on doing it). In which case, the only option is just to ignore him as best you can and not give him the time of day or any money.

Yeah honestly, I hated how Cho responded (not the drawings but the actual things he's said) but I also feel like there shouldn't have been articles about it in the first place. He'll just feed off the whole thing like the troll he is and all of us will keep having to see it.

I am all for more discussions about how women are portrayed in comics but this may have been one of those cases where fandom should have chosen a different target.

Yep. Getting mad at Cho for drawing what he does -and especially for how long he's been doing it- is like getting mad at the rain for being wet at this point. One can complain about it until one's face turns purple, but that's not going to change anything. For the record, I don't care what he draws -whether it be his own characters or established ones in for-hire work-, but his attitude leaves a lot to be desired and then some.

It sucks that we can't really have a mature, thoughtful discussion about women in comics with people like Cho. IMO, giving people like him attention only makes things worse, and only strengthens the mindset of the idiots who keep clamoring for a "ComicsGate"-type controversy to derail all the positive work being done in the industry to become more inclusive of people who aren't straight cis white males. At least there's other artists who are willing to listen and engage in discussion without resorting to acting like a petulant kid.
