I think I had the opposite problem with Tutu, I always heard it was so great so I had pretty big expectations... And I just didn't care for Fakir at all, so the second season really left me with a sour taste in my mouth about the whole thing. I completely adore Rue though, so there was that, haha.

Honestly, I was excited about Yurikuma at first because I was glad to see Ikuhara essentially doing away with any pretenses and starting knee deep in weird shit -- I love his sense of surrealism. But tbh, it feels like he just couldn't handle condensing everything he wanted to do into the low episode count. I don't think it's bad, but it's pretty rushed feeling, so it was a bit disappointing to me. I enjoyed Penguindrum overall, though I agree it doesn't reach Utena's level at all.

Fujiko is one of my favorites ever, I hope you enjoy it!
