Re: rich people stories

I find that to be true for the generational wealth people, aside from the occasional obnoxious bad apple. Even those tend to get smacked back into line when they go too far out because their money isn't their money, so to speak, and Daddy and Mommy can easily remind them of it.

Not all, but lots of self made people have this air of "if I can do it by getting exceptionally lucky or gaming the system, why can't you? Nobody works as hard as me" and it's way worse.

The brattiest rich kid I ever met had two parents who were away from home all the time. His parents would raise hell if they heard he got disciplined at school, but if they knew he was bullying other kids, they certainly didn't care. (In retrospect, I have no idea who raised him, and I've been told that multiple adults wondered that without an answer.)

That's more a failing of the parents than the child. Wealth doesn't have much to do with it. Any kid at any income level would act like that in that situation.

This. Neglect doesn't exactly do wonders for any child. Wealth probably gave him more of an entitled attitude than other children and made it easier for him to get out of trouble but, regardless of socioeconomic status, a lot of kids develop serious behavioral issues when their parents obviously don't truly give a shit about them.
