Yup. The super rich don't have anything to prove, they're already super rich. It can cut both ways: they can be obnoxious assholes because they don't have to care what people think, but they can also be the friendliest people because they have time and effort to spare and aren't afraid of being judged for who they associate with. When you have money, other people's opinions just matter less.

When people have something to prove, they tend to be super defensive at everything.
