You know, honestly...? I can't really see Kurogane and Fay actually getting together in the end and having a 'happily ever after' no matter how many hints get thrown at us (and yes, I see the hints just like everyone else. I just prefer K/F as a platonic relationship)

I mean, CLAMP obviously has no problem with gay characters, but the series is running in a shounen magazine that's aimed at teenage Japanese boys. Just how often do gay protagonists appear in shounen series?

I do ship it, but I think that from my perspective, this is as canon as we're going to get. And I'm happy with it. However, I do think that Tsubasa has proven itself to not be the 100% traditional shounen series, and CLAMP doesn't seem too worried about fitting completely into the shounen mold, so I don't think you can discount K/F simply on the basis of Tsubasa being a shounen manga.

Okay, true. I mean, I know that CLAMP is going to throw hints at us left and right, but they're probably never going to say they love each other or even kiss.

Well, to be fair, how many couples in CLAMP mangas actually say 'I love you'? We usually just get something along the lines of 'so and so is so and so's special person' or just actions that show us that the two people are connected.

There aren't gay protagonists, but there's gay fanservice in series as popular as Naruto. Oh, and I've heard that the mangaka of GetBackers is a yaoi fan and slashes his own characters. So the fact that it's shounen doesn't really mean no gay.

Not that that's the only argument, though. I don't think they're canon in the strictest sense either. I think that's how CLAMP means for it to be interpreted, but that doesn't mean you have to interpret it that way.

GetBackers... Okay, you've got a point. I can definitely see that. Tons of people ship them and they have a lot of chemistry, but Ban and Ginji were never an official couple, right? They were clearly important to each other, though.

No, they're not. And neither is Kurogane/Fay, imo. But there is intentional subtext there, you have to admit, whether you ship them or not, which you certainly don't have to do.

Ahahahaha, it does kind of amuse me how they fall back on unpopular opinions on

fandomsecrets whenever they need something new to talk about. By this point I'm very glad I left. (Seriously, who cares if somebody thinks CLAMP is overrated? People are allowed to have negative opinions.)

What? No, I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about how it seems like every time there's an opinion expressed here that possibly contradicts canon/accepted fanon or even upsets the fans' delicate sensibilities (the aforementioned "I think CLAMP is overrated" sentiment) it seems like it's ranted about over there. I'm all for the discussion you're having, keep it up. (Also, your opinion isn't exactly unpopular, so.)
