My normally news-oblivious dad shared a Vox.com piece on Facebook last week. It also has a number of fans who are policy wonks/political junkies both on and offline. Thus, I'd say its reach is growing and growing fairly quickly. It's not quite mainstream but could reach that status.

It looks like that article was shared 12,000 times on FB. In the grand scheme of things, I would not consider that a huge number (even if you were to like multiple it by 5 or so).
