Yeah. There was a lot in her diary, even after they were in hiding, about that one guy she liked.

She was a teenager and had teenage feelings. And she had no idea at the time how important she and her diary would be, because how could she? She'd probably be mortified at everyone reading it.

I actually don't think it's right how a lot of people make her out to be some kind of hero. the whole point is that she was just like any other girl of that age.

But I don't think it was a good idea on John Green's part to write that scene. I don't like it when writers make those kinds of scenes in general. They feel very exploitative.
