Aw, that sucks. Personally I love how they didn't chose to have him do the sexy cry and there's all kinds of stuff running down his face in that episode, but I get why that would harsh your squee. It's just not the aesthetic/trope you prefer, no shame in that. :) (Maybe try the books and imagine Ioan crying prettily instead?)

Yeah. I do appreciate on an "acting" level that they decided to show realistic grief instead of a few noble tears, but on a fangirl level, it wasn't what I was looking for.

Still, Ioan has this habit of getting roles which involve at least one "trying to be stoic but his wet eyes give away his true feelings" scene, which more than makes up for any mild discomfort I feel during the actual breakdown scenes.
