For me I'd only be comfortable with her in a relationship where we already see a close friendship in canon (so basically Clint or Steve). Partially because she doesn't trust easily so I just can't see it otherwise and because that way there wouldn't have to be so much romance build that it would take away from her character.

Not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that romance takes time. And the less close the characters already are, the more time it is going to take and therefore the more screentime it will take away from the other parts of her character. She's already close with Clint and Steve. So you'd just have romance scenes instead of friend scenes. With Bruce, there isn't that much of a relationship there other than being co-Avengers. There needs to be more build to make it believable and therefore there is less time for other Natasha scenes.

You may like the way the Bruce/Natasha plays out, if that's your qualification for a plausible pairing.

It's possible. I really didn't want her to have a canon pairing at all. Bruce/Natasha is actually the only pairing of her that I haven't read fics for. She's someone I ship with a lot of people in fanon. I'm actually a lot more bothered by the Clint stuff than by Bruce/Natasha. I didn't want it to happen, but I'm sure it is going to be fine. I trust Joss anyway.
