I hope you keep at it and realize your goal.

I wouldn't worry about people irl: they may not even realize you're drawing fanart. And it's not a particularly conspicuous hobby if you want to keep it hidden. As far as not having a tablet, traditional media is still great and a lot of people say it's easier to start with.

I know I (and many people) can draw better traditionally than digitally.
