more seriously, I guess, I never read the books but I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to live by a system of values that you like, whatever its source. and then at the same time, there's many times when things seem better in fictional worlds than in ours. just the way it goes sometimes.

An answer that has nothing to do with 4chan:

I think in like... the 60s or something...? people basically theorized that religion would die out, and nobody would believe in God in the future. (Because religion and sky-fairies are for silly rabbit people.)

The trend has actually swung the opposite way, and there's been a mild resurgence in religious belief.
