(Anonymous) 2015-04-25 02:08 am (UTC)(link)Text: A musical based on an anime reminded me of some things that happened to me as a child. I’ve read a few books on abusive parently, and yet, nothing had such an emotional impact on my like this obscure show from the 90s. I literally hand nightmares after watching it. I don’t really regret it, because I watched it in a tiem when I was finally coming to terms with my past, and it was quite cathartic.
I’m to embarrassed to say which musical it was, because objectively speaking, my experience was nowhere near as bad as the main character’s. On top of this, I feel like I’m overreacting to a piece of entertainment which was meant to be interspersed with harmless fanservice.
