Yeah, that'll deter trolls /sarcasm. Remove the incentive to troll and okay spoiler talk and they'll go away.

I'd like to know what other people think of arguments like these, but nobody is really responding to each other.

Spoiler talk is okay. Case specifically said that a thread with AoU spoilers would be fine if it was properly warned, and that's also the current policy being discussed. The problem is unwarned spoiler talk. And it's not unreasonable for people to be pissed about getting spoiled for something they care about.

Second, I don't think having a rule like this will inspire trolls either way. What trolls care about is whether people will get pissed off at them spoiling shit (or their weird feelings of revenge on America, as the case may be). And that doesn't really have anything to do about the rules.

The only thing that'll be different is, if the person is a troll, Case can delete the thread immediately, instead of waiting for a bunch of anons to yell about it. And if they're not a troll, there'll be a convenient guideline to how to do things properly.

I think the worst you can say about the idea is that it's pointless. But I don't see how it'll be harmful.

I agree that this proposed change would be pointless. Better just to bow to the inevitable and make it an open spoiler zone. Caveat Lector.
