No. If the topic of the thread in question is something you're trying to avoid spoilers for, it should be common sense not to read that thread.

Perhaps it would be better if everyone vigorously scanned the title text of every thread before they read it.

But I don't think that's really how people read. With collapsed threads, yes, but I think with an uncollapsed thread at the top of the page, it's natural for your eyes to go right to the text of the post.

And that's really the only situation we're talking about here - where spoilers are in uncollapsed posts.

Read slower then. I manage to read the headline without skipping direct to the body. It is fairly easy to just skip over text without reading if you make even a slight effort.

This, plus it takes a lot less time to just read the headline to see if the thread is something that will interest you or not.
