Eh, the problem with that would be that while cajuns are descendants of Arcadians it's its own unique culture now, independent of that. So assuming that acardian extration = cajun is pretty off.

That said, anyone who seriously believes what their friend does is being an idiot - and one that's missing some pretty damn good music.

Arcadia and Acadia are different places. And Cajun is a misspelling of Acadien.

AYRT-- I know Cajuns are of Acadian extraction but now their own thing. Acadian myself, remember? And I still thumb my nose at the idea it's cultural appropriation for me to like this Cajun band.

Or for someone of another cultural group to like Edith Butler or La Bottine Souriante, for that matter.
