I totally get you OP. My fictional power fantasies involve having power over purely evil characters who nevertheless I can get to do what I want or I can completely trick and defeat.

Pretty sure power fantasies are normal, and they don't necessarily mean anything about real life. Or maybe they just mean you like to be in charge. nothing wrong with that, and there is no reason it would play out exactly like the fantasy.
