Well, this is just about as bad as people who think trans people are mentally ill.

isn't part of the thing about that is some of those people are arguing about insurance?

Yes and no. Mostly it's people who have no idea what it means to be mentally ill throwing that term around for anyone who has a different identity or sexuality than cisgendered heterosexual.

Luckily, they're not included in policy decisions.
