This is largely due to the Clinton family's spectacularly skeleton-packed closet (which nobody willing to vote for her at this point in time actually wants to see, but the Republicans are gonna have a ball throwing open), some personal foibles of Hillary herself (including the fact that she's not nearly as leftist as a lot of people would like), and the overall shitty situation of a dynasty candidate.

I think it would probably be more accurate to say that most people are desensitized to the Clinton scandal stuff.

No one I've see on the left or center-left has cared at all about the Clinton scandals. the attitude has very much been that we've seen it all before, and the only people who care are Republicans who weren't going to vote for her anyway.

I actually cared. Not about the affair, because whatever. The lying under oath, though, was a problem for me.

Ah, well, I was too young at that point to vote. And by the time I got to voting age, I was of the opinion that anyone on the Democrat side would be better than anyone on the Republican side. I just generally find the Republican platform genuinely scary and will vote for whoever can beat them.

Okay, that's crap. Oral sex is sex, and he was purposefully trying to deceive. Whether he should have been questioned is another matter, because I don't think he should have been. But once that happened, he should have been honest on the stand.

Not legally it isn't. Or it wasn't at that point. It might have been a colloquially accepted understanding, but legally oral wasn't oral sex because oral is not or was not covered in the legal definition of sex as drawn up by prude bastards.

Oral sex was covered by the definition, but the wording was interpreted to mean that he'd have had to have given oral sex rather than received it.

The hard core Dems who would vote Dem if a monkey stood on their ticket don't care. The hard core Tea Partiers who would never vote Dem even if Jesus himself came down from heaven and endorsed her will never vote for her. The circa 500 undecided Americans whose votes are the only ones that might actually count will still care, especially when the really nasty shit gets hauled out of the closet as we all know it will. And lets not kid ourselves, those people who are undecided are stupid enough to think that Republicans would not see them in sackcloth and tied to a plow if there was a bent cent in it for them, so we do not dare discount them nor give them something even remotely unpleasant. And Hilary is unpleasant enough already. Her Veep is probably going to be the one who finishes her term too, if elected.
