Sure. Trying to upset someone by accusing them of being a troll for no reason with the deliberate intent of provoking isn't trolling.

Or maybe you're just trying to piss me off...i.e. trolling. By accusing me of trolling, something which I basically never do.

Not feeding the trolls is not so simple, it requires spiritual maturity and discipline. The community needs to be perfectly united in ignoring trolls, which can be problematic. Newcomers to online debates will not recognise trolling tactics or know the standard procedure and will engage with the troll as a particularly tempting target.

There are also different kinds of trolls. There are the obnoxious ones who should be ignored, and there are the funny ones who it can be amusing to feed, and the line between the two can be different for different people. There are also the vicious/actually harmful ones who should be gotten rid of; fortunately those are relatively uncommon.

(I totally agree that many of us, myself included, are pretty bad at just ignoring them, and if even one person responds then it's pointless, so sometimes it seems there's no point in engaging in that discipline)
