This. The only movie I've been able to enjoy him in was Edge of Tomorrow, and that is because his character started out an entitled jackass exactly like he is in real life, and then watching him die over and over was cathartic. By the time the character became likeable, I could handle him.

And that's one movie I would've loved to see anyone else in. (Specifically Sharlto Copely, but only because he played a similar character in District 9.)

Oh, I totally would have loved to see anyone else in the role. I just was able to tolerate Cruise. Most of the time I can't even bring myself to watch anything with him in it.

God, same, Edge of Tomorrow was great if you really hate Tom Cruise.

Only other films for me are Minority Report (because I just love the setting/concept, and I think he's supposed to come across as a somewhat-unsympathetic protagonist), and Interview With a Vampire (I still can't believe that's Tom Cruise.)

Ugh, what they did to PKD's original novella for Minority Report was a travesty beyond all reason.

*insert capslock rant here*
