Music recs!

F!S, i'm trying to get together a spring/summer playlist to put on my MP3 player, but I'm sort of...sick of a lot of stuff I have, and I'm not really finding anything screams "wow".

I usually like upbeat stuff, dance-able stuff, or slightly bombastic stuff - but really, I'm happy to find anything new.

Walk The Moon! Their self-titled album and Talking Is Hard are both excellent and extremely danceable. (And "Aqua Man" will be the first dance at my 80s prom-themed wedding.)

I actually quite like those, especially Patrick Wolf...I sort of mentioned upbeat, because often people tend to give me rather gloomy, depressing recs. And hat sort of music can be really lovely too, but I'm sort of pre-emptively trying to broaden it.

Cool! Patrick Wolf is really good and most of his stuff is along those lines (although that's def my favorite song of his, not to mention how good the video is) so I'd recommend checking that out.

Ooh! Ooh! Maybe some stuff at Incompetech would suit you! :D It's very well organized. My personal favorite sections are Unclassifiable and Silent Movie, but Polka has some REALLY upbeat stuff!

As far as dance music goes, I like old 60s doo-wop best! The most danceable song ever is Runaround Sue, by Dion and the Belmonts. Sam Cooke has a lot of great stuff too!

If you're ok with Korean -

Orange Caramel has very fun songs, like: My Copycat. Other cute bands are Crayon Pop, and LED Apple, and VIXX also has some fun stuff, though some is a bit less upbeat.

Norazo is slightly more heavy, but also fast paced and fun imo. Mackerel.

If you like Visual Kei-type stuff, there's a band called Matenrou Opera which I quite enjoy. They're less upbeat and more drama, though.
