Who's your hero?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-26 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
What fictional character is "your hero"? Favorites, ones you connect with the most, or ones that inspire you the most. Doesn't have to be a superhero, but someone "heroic"!

Link! Link's my number one hero.

Second, maybe Cloud Strife (original game only). By the end, his speech right before the final battle, with "don't any of you die on me" and "let's mosey" I was like, aww, let's save the world. Alternatively Aeris is my hero. :)

Elrond (from the book)

After everything he's been through, he's still so thoroughly welcoming and generous. He hasn't lost his sense of humor. He's still fighting the good fight. He's still willing to make painful sacrifices for the greater good. He doesn't seem to hold any animosity towards those who have wronged him. He's a loving father and a very wise, kind person.

I just think he's a great role model and an excellent character.

Buffy the vampire slayer. Buffy was the first time I found teenage girls relatable and real, and that's what made her so much more of a hero in my eyes. She wasn't perfect, she could be a hypocrite, sometimes she wanted to just quit, but in the end she always did the right thing and saved everyone.

Kenzo Tenma

He's the man I'd most like to be like.

Or Metroid Prime Samus Aran -- badass

Besides the obvious? *points to icon*

I sort of love Xena, because when she first came on TV I hadn't really see a female character like that - and i totally love she's a kickass woman with a redemption story.

Luke Skywalker will also always have a special place in my heart.

Kinda chiche, I guess, but ACD Sherlock Holmes. He was intelligent, too quirky but made it fucking work, and actually cared about the people who called on him for help, even if it was a fairly distant and polite caring. He inspired loyalty in those who knew him well, and respect from pretty much everyone.

First person who springs to mind is Martina from Spacetrawler who I'm sure I've talked about a million times but still.

She's a normal person who gets caught up in some insane shit, and just keeps a level head on her shoulders and tries really, really hard to do the right thing for everyone at all times because she really, really cares about it. And she's intelligent and resourceful and surprisingly badass, in addition to her moral commitment.

Also, she has a relationship with a giant space slug, so what's not to like about that

I'm not usually into heroes, but I do love Wesley Wyndam Pryce forever. And regard him as a hero.

Atticus Finch.

Yes, always Atticus!

(Second...maybe movie!verse Steve Rogers, but Atticus is above and beyond man.)

Hokuto Sumeragi from Tokyo Babylon. I love and identify with a lot of characters, but for some reason she's the only one I find inspiring. Not sure why.

Moiraine Damodred.

She's not the WoT character I relate to most (that'd be Nynaeve, who is also one of my favs) but Moiraine is honestly so much of what I aspire to be. <3 I sometimes think of her in stressful situations to help keep calm.

Usopp, after Thriller Bark. He knows he's the weak link of the crew and a total coward but he doesn't let that get in the way of trying to achieve his dreams anyway.

Our first heroes were Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and Sophie from the BFG.

I still think these are perfectly good heroes to have. (Little girls and monsters is STILL one of my favorite tropes!)
