Thankfully, it's usually pretty uncommon! Like, the only time it really fucked me up was with the Mike Brown shit where EVERYONE was posting police brutality vids, often untagged.

These days, at worst I get a couple cute animal things on the same page, which is annoying, but not the OH DEAR GOD NO! that the police brutality shit was. I'd WAY rather my page freeze on pugs or otters than THAT.

I also appreciate gifs getting tagged for a similar reason--well, that and sometimes they're really eye-searing.

The only other time I can recall really going OH SWEET MOTHERFUCK NO was the time I accidentally found myself on a pro-ana tumblr. Oh man was that bad. I think that person also posted photos of her self-harm too. I actually covered my eyes and closed the tab blind that time! (Obviously, I didn't follow her.)

I've never thought to tag gifs! Not sure why... A massive amount of the posts I reblog are gifs but it hasn't crossed my mind. I also admit I assume most people see a lot/reblog a lot of gifs of their own, so I haven't considered it. Maybe I should tag them.

was the time I accidentally found myself on a pro-ana tumblr

...Well that's disturbing. And sad. I hope that person got help.

Yeah, I generally don't follow folks who post a ton of gifs. So that's not as big a pain as videos, I just like being able to cut past them, since I'm a raccoon who can't look away from moving images, no matter what they contain. (I'm the same when a TV is in the room with me. Doesn't matter if it's a damn bank commercial, I can't not stare at it.) But I can totally understand why people wouldn't tag them, and if it's a more "serene" gif (you know, rain falling or something) that's a lot easier and not too annoying at all.

Yeah, I hope so too. Those pro-ana and self-harm sites scare the bejeezus out of me.

I'm going to try to remember to tags gifs from now on. I already tag videos and fanart and audio posts but for some reason I have never thought, "I should tag gifs!"

Thanks! I always appreciate when folks tag stuff like that, for us poor schmucks with slower connections or comps.
